CMJ Music Marathon Panelist

I've been invited to appear as a panelist for the CMJ Music Marathon this year. The panel is called MUNY: Stories from an Underground Culture and will be held at NYU's Kimmel Center on October 20th. I think it's appropriate and good that CMJ is acknowledging street / subway performance as an alternative outlet for new music. At least that's what I'll be talking about.

My first Amity Rose show in Boston was tonight, hosted by friend Uncle Shoe at the very beautiful and atmospheric Library at the Church of the Advent in the Back Bay. Perfect natural acoustics and a grandfather clock on stage!

I had a wonderful time today as AMITY ROSE playing on an "American Roots" bill as part of an outdoor concert series held at Richard Tucker Park in Lincoln Square (across from Lincoln Center). My dear friend Jane Pejtersen (Calamity Jane) made a special appearance with me, marking our debut singing together! Sean Grissom, the Cajun Cellist and the Ebony Hillbillies were also in the lineup. The rain held out for a beautiful day of outdoor music.

DAGMAR played for the 2009 AICP Next Awards at the Museum of Modern Art. Congratulations to bbH for winning the People's Choice Award in the Integrated Campaign category for their OASIS "Dig Out Your Soul" in The Streets.

Last night at Joe's Pub, I played Ethel Troutzeigler in ABOVE HELL's KITCHEN by Spottiswoode and His Enemies, based loosely on Don Giovanni.

It was a legendary night. Thanks to all who came out.

It is a stylish black & white 18 minute love letter to street musicians and NYC, and you'll see that, despite his bad boy reputation, Liam Gallagher is actually a thoughtful, nice person, as are Gem Archer (guitar) and Andy Bell (bass).
